A.J. Fernandez is a world renowned cigar maker with many brands under his belt and in 2010, he released the San Lotano brand. Earlier this year, he decided to add-on to the San Lotano profile and produce the Bull for a nationwide release. The focus of this cigar can be seen in the name, it’s built to be strong and full of flavor.  A.J. Fernandez challenges you to tame the bull.

The cedar sleeve on this cigar is perfect and makes a  strong statement. Once you take that off, you see a gorgeous medium brown wrapper with excellent construction and a box-pressed finish. With a very firm pack, you can feel that this cigar will burn for a long time.

Dynamite fits this cigar well because the strength is a big component of how this cigar smokes. The first half has flavors of cedar, spice, and leather with a strength that is slowly building. This cigar really kicks in during the second half where more bold flavors of charred wood and earth develop with the dominant spice and leather. At this point, the Bull develops into a full-bodied and full strength experience.

If you enjoy strength in a cigar, this one is for you. But not only is it strong, it’s very smooth and delivers a full flavor experience that does make a few transitions. The construction on almost every single one I smoked was nearly perfect and the only thing that ever gave me a problem was removing the band. It’s such a nice band, but with so much glue it’s almost impossible to get the band off clean and intact. This is a very satisfying cigar that had a burn time of 2 hours on average.
