THE RUNDOWN

The 601 Green Label was added to the “EO Brands” line back in 2009, joining the Blue and Red label. When Espinosa y Ortega decided to split ways, Espinosa Cigars acquired the now, 5-core cigar line “601”. Later on, all 601 cigars began being made at the La Zona factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The Green Label is a gorgeous Nicaraguan puro with an oily, dark brown Habano Oscuro wrapper. Like everything that is coming out of Espinosa’s factory, the construction is spot on and ready to smoke. The pack is solid and delivers some nice weight to it even in the corona vitola.

Earth, coffee, leather, and spice make for a perfect combination. Balance and complex are the name of the game and the 601 Green Label delivers.

During the winter time there is nothing better than a corona sized cigar that delivers flavor and strength in the same package. The Green Label is one of the strongest cigars in the 601 line, behind the La Bomba, and the corona vitola doesn’t fall short. The flavors are so complex and enjoyable that I find myself grabbing this cigar more frequently than not. Espionsa and the La Zona factory are busier than ever, but this 601 Green Label still shines as a gem inside their extensive portfolio. If you are looking for a full bodied, almost full strength cigar that lasts right around the hour mark, this is the perfect choice.

I like these too, and still have a couple left. I’m ordinarily sensitive to nicotine, but I haven’t noticed them ever making me sweat or feel woozy.
